hi everyone
my mate has purchased an evo 8 today and he gets it within a week or so and i thought thats cool but the thing that gets me that his quote for that car is £1500 fully comp under his own name apparantley... I thought to myself that can't be right and here are the reasons why:
1. every car he had has been under his parents name
2. Insurance group is 20
3. Before having his liecence he got caught for driving with no insurance, tax n mot and ended up getting 6 points and a ban on his provisional
4. He's 21 same age as me
 im confused on how he can get a quote like that its impossible

give me the name of the insurance company im going to them. im paying 1300 on a 1.2 16v sxi v reg. im 18 i had my liscnece revoked for getting 6 point in the first 2 years of driving (past when i was 17) i stil have 6 points on my liscence. saying that it drops to 800 quid in june. gues the insurance company. we will quote you happy.

I just got a reply from him and he went on to confused.com to get the cheapest quote and hes gone with adrimal.com what company you with mate....?

my ex was 21 when he had his evo 6 only way he could insure it was with a traders policy. He managed to insure his evo 8 FQ330 when he was 23 though. think it was almost 2k though.

My mate is 21 no points or bans and has had 2 evo 8's. the one he currently has is the fq300 with all the carbon extra's and black wheels. He's also a police man on his dads insurance paying £230 a month with elephant who are part of the admiral group.
Doubt £1500 is true being honest, prob don't want u to take the piss out of him for paying £4000 a year or something

Im 21, 4yrs no claims, no crashes, 3pts and Ive struggled to get quotes less than 2.5k. He is either not insuring it or winding you up!

end of day im happy for him getting that motor but i realised something when the time he wants to go on his own policy instead of his parents, insurance depending on what car he gets is going to hit him where it hurts cause the number of ncb's he builds up wont be going on to his
