My dad bought this Clean Wheels stuff, think its Turtle Wax. Spray one one as a foam to clean them. Wash it off then apply the other as a spray on wax.

Meguiars Wheel cleaner seems to shift brake dust

Mine gets washed every week and usually just wipes off with the sponge left for bit longer than a week and brake dust was caked on tough to remove....

Few squirts of Megs and off it comes

Wonder wheels.
The fumes could probably kill you and I think the stuff it uses is for cleaning concrete or something but it does the job.
Just don't leave anything that harsh on the wheels for ages.
Long enough to do its job then wash it off.
