One moment I have a theory, the next minute it gets blown out of the water.

I think inside the Others Hatch where Michael and Walt saw each other and Walt tells him they are not who they seem, I reckon they have people wired up to subconscious monitors and they nuture children because they have no evil in them, they have never done anything wrong, its an experiment to control the planet through mind control, make the Earth a good place to live.
