Never thought a 1.4 16v 5dr was capable of more than 100 yet apparently I was doing 118.6 when i got caught.
And whats more, i only got a fine and points, lucky day i guess...

Even the 1.4 Sport won't do 118mph. I'd contest that mate unlsess it was down a hill!

Well, it was a bit of a downhill gradient, and i personally think the speed gun was out, coz it miraculously dropped to 100 whilst i was sat in their car, but either way its a pain

I heard to ban you for over 100 the patrol car has to take your average speed over 2 miles. Someone at work got caught in the van one night but only got 3 points and £60 fine because his average was 97.5mph even though he touched nearly 110 at one point.

There was the fella in the Punto caught at 118mph or similar, contested it in court, got an impartial professional driver to test it and the highest it would reach was 109 for instance, case was thrown out
