ok so im looking to buy a new car for work

shall be doing 12k a year in it

i have 2,000 abouts to spend and it has to:

be over 40mpg
be cheap band tax
be insurance group 4 or less
3 door ideal
T reg or newer
not fussed on mileage

i have a t reg corsa at the moment, 1.2 16v. might try a 1.0 new shape corsa (bidding on a few on ebay) as i quite like these, or a smart car (but not as practical being 2 seater, but good MPG)

any more ideas?

What's wrong with the 1.2 16 valve?

Personally I wouldn't wana do 12k+ a year in a 12 volt 'C

will cost me over double to do it in the bmw then the corsa

plus i am in two minds to sell the bmw and get an m3 instead, my mate has just got one and i love it, looks amazing and i can see why its worth the extra cash. couldnt do 12k a year in my bmw or an m3 sat at 50mph in traffice for 50 miles a day!

something old and crap will do me fine, plus i can park it anywhere without hooligans trashing it

oh and there is nothing wrong with the 1.2 16v engine, really good, just lacks power steering (my mam is learning to drive in it) and nice touches like a sunroof

might settle for a 1.0 12v gls 3 door on an x plate, top spec but plenty of mpg

plenty of 51 plate 106's and puntos and clios for sale for 2k..............might have a look about

new shape corsa is still on my wish list
