Don't see a problem with it to a certain extent.

Don't see the problem with parents buying their Children cars. If it helps them get something newer, reliable and safer then so be it. Think people that disagree are either jealous or up their own rectums. There is always somebody better off than you around the corner, get over it

Mainly jealousy and the whole taken-for-granted thing, well i think so anyway not a case of being up their own arse, just taking for granted and no realising how lucky they are...

I think it mainly is jealousy.

I have two sisters (one older, one younger) and have all had stuff bought for us. All got cars and insurance paid until we are working (either at 18 or after Uni). We've all got a trust fund that we have access to after we are 21 (I bought my apartment and my sister bought her house). And from what I can tell none of us act spoilt or that were better than anyone else, and we all have an understanding of money and dont just spend, spend, spend.

I have had alot of people get in arguments with me though over it. Not really mates, but people who knew I had money but didnt know me properly used to just start having a go sometimes, its fucking ridiculous. Even had an ex who was from a fairly poor family and used to argue with me about money all the time and refuse to see any of my family

As long as you're grateful for it, and realise how lucky you are then i can't see the problem. Its like he said, they get everything then winge when they dont get what they want that gets on my nerves as its so ungrateful!

yeah, can agree with that.

I think we mainly appreciate it as we didnt always have money. We came from a little shitty part of Liverpool originally and my Dad worked hard and eventually made his money when I was about 12/13 (21 now). I can imagine the ones who have been brought up with money all their life might be a bit different.

I hate to agree with you, but yeah that is bollocks!

Turn it the other way round then...youve worked hard, made your money and your kids are growing up. Would you want to help them out, buy them a decent car so they are safe, make sure they are set up nicely in a decent house part way up the property ladder, etc. etc.

You are 100% spot on... whats wrong with parents seeing satisfaction in their kids

£900 a month would mean you wouldn't have to work. That's why i would turn it down. On the other hand, your parents would not seek any satisfaction from you doing that.

Where did the figure £900 come form anyway

You could live off £900 in Liverpool easily.
