My gf has a corsa b (L reg beast) and every now and then the handbrake light comes on randomly when shes driving. The handbrake is off (and fully to the floor), but cant think why the light comes on aside from a dodgy connection somewhere. Anyone else had this probelm, and how did you solve it?

Also, would it be worth upgrading the front disks to larger items like 2.0L cav or something instead of the tiny biscuit disks that dont seem to stop very well? Would there be a noticable difference?

Check your brake pads first as if they are worn or knackered just by replacing them will cure the light problem, if the light comes on with new pads installed then top up brake fluid

Pads are have not long been changed, however i did find out that a local garage serviced the brakes last year, and they only replaced 1 valve (i think thats what it is) when they should have replaced 2! Thinking there may be a tad of a leak, so its off to a diff garage friday now. cheers for the help chaps!
