those who have been following my story!
garage says cuz the head has been done and compression is fine then its put pressure on bottom engine which has caused crank shaft to go and that has knocked the shells off? he is also gonna change rings! any idea on cost of parts?

this is what I said last time pavorotti posted, should you not ask the garage how much it would cost, as they will be doing the repair?

wud like to know cost of new crankshaft and wen i ask garage guy says i nedd to sit down with a piece of paper when its done and work it oot! so that leaves me worrying about cost! if u dont know dont reply to the question!

if its a proper garage surely he would quote you a price before you go ahead with the work

so your telling us your garage wants to do the work, then work out how much it is going to cost you, with no quotes at all?
try a different garage, I know I would!

honestly mate give them a ring, ask them to give you a fully fitted price before they carry out the work, its their responsibility to do this or they could charge you anything

do not get any work carried out unless you have a quote!!! and to help you, they are not not alowed by law to add any more than 10% ontop of their quoted price!!! youe best bet is to find another good bottom end, shjould be able to pick one up for under £100, then get them to fit that...
