elan's wot do ppl think about them. my mum and dad are looking into a sporty convertibel and my dad saw one of these for sale locally, nice british racing green colour, 1.6 turbo 
anyone know much about them????

me dad has one, he loves it! seems good reliable car cos the engine is izzu 1.6 turbo, they do huge milages so engines are strong!
also u can get insurance cheap if u can get ti throush clasic car insurance! i looker at doing it but i was not old enough!

dont seems silly fast but my dad does not rev cars hard, so he prob dont even use the boost......hehe
0-60 on them is in the 7s tho so should be fast when driven harder!

use a lot of GM parts too, so some fixes can be cheap

hmm this could be gd, as i may be insured on it 
just found some nice examples on the net and they look alright, not exactly uptodate but not the most dated cars
my only concern with it is its an old turbo, done 60k now on a 1995 plate. but its a series 2 wot eva the dirffernce is i cant see it lol

they made them from early 90 till about 92 i think ish!!
then few years latter they found a load of cars in factory and so brought them out again to get rid of them in 95 or 96 ish as special edition!!!
engines seem to be very strong dont think the turbos are running silly boost so not gonna be tempremental, me dad has had is for over a year now and never had a prob, handling is really good cos its soooo wide cos they were planning to make it a 4x4 in the end but never did but made the chassis wide enough to take the 4x4 gear!!
the brakes are pretty shocking he says, different pads are ment to be good idea or even brake upgrade! the calipers like to seize up alot
