my sis is mid way through buying a 2 bed end terrace for £180k. that's cheap aswell.

i'm almost 24 and don't really have a chance to move out for at least a couple of years.
need to clear a little bit of debt, stop throwing money around willy nilly, get a payrise or go to work for another company, and put together a saving plan.

I was saying exactly this a while ago, then one day I popped in to see the price of flats near me. They were too much, so I got a mortgage offer off the bank and went back, gave him the bit of paper and told him if he wanted to sell one thats what I had. He phoned back 3 days later and said come and sign for it.

If the roof is on they need selling, and the margins are huge. Mine cost over twice the valuation for buildings insurance, and my neighbours one is on the market for three times that. Haggle.

everywhere i go in Norwich i see places with "buy to let mortgage" offers in the windows.

basically first time buyers or those looking to buy and cant because they dont have 50k a year jobs are going to be money making fodder for all these buy to let entreprenuers!!

Get a mortgage over a longer time or interest only (to begin with then re-mortgage when better placed) You cant lose if you have a foot on the rung!!
