Light punisment is that. Minimum sentence dished out locally tends to be 18 months with a 3 month reduction on completion of a dd course.

12 months is minimum ban period if he does the TTC course, will reduce it to 9 then, or so I have been led to believe

We call it the DDR (Drink Drivers Rehab) course. Seems he got offered that. Costs about £160. Normal for first timers not much over the limit.
