For the same reason that their fists don't completely shatter when they punch through the walls......their bodies do not follow the same rules as the world they are within.

2nd and 3rd matrix film were crap. Reminded me of rubbish sci fi like star trek / star wars, mentioning of councils and stuff, got too serious and yawn boring.
1st one was cool as f*ck though.

its the best trilogy ever!
Have avoided watching them on tele this week as will watch them on DVD this weekend. Just watched wedding crashers which was so funny BTW. Neighbours must think Im nuts as was laughing out loud all through it!
