Any of you own/owned one ?
Might want to have one in a while as Ive always really liked them.
Just wondering about general reliability/costs of these cars ?
They seem to still go for around £1500 - £3000 on auto trader
Also any of you owned one at quite a young age ? How was insurance ?
Anyone not interested by these cars dont bother posting that they are shitheaps etc

Don't do it.
They're worse than heroin addiction.
You'll sell your shirt/house/family/arse to make it quicker, or get stuff for it that you want.
Edit: If you've got your heart set on one, buy the best one you can find. A cheap one will be a false economy. Try to find a one owner car that's been garaged, and go over it with a fine tooth comb checking for rust.
Check your local RSOC meet for cars for sale. This will be a good place to find an exceptional car.
I paid 8.5K for mine in 2000, so expect to spend a bit on a good one.
It will regularly need a gearbox rebuild by the way, especially if it's making good power/torque.
Mine has worn the latest rebuild out in a little over 3000 miles.

I had an S2 RS turbo, great fun. Not to hard to work on but they do tend to go wrong sometimes (guess like any hardcore forced induction) parts are piss easy and cheap to get hold of though.
Yougest is 15 years old now tho. Id pay extra to get one with good bodywork/batt tray/sills intact. Go for top of the market or else itll be worth nothing in a few years time.
£3K will get you a mint 90spec H plate. G'luck!
Still love 'em!
