From the date of the offence or conviction? I have three points in mine where the date it happened was one year before the date the points were actually issued

3 years for you not have to declare them (to police/insurance) and 4 years to actually apply to have them removed from your license.

If i was you I'd go by the earlyest date (Date of offence) and try to have them removed, you'll soon find out either way!
What are the dates , why did it take a year for the convicton to come through?

Ridiculous, if they are void after 3 years why the fcuk does the insurance need to know 2 years afterwards?
My endorsement becomes void at the end of the year (November 2003 was when I was convicted) but I'll still need to declare it to insurance? Thats outrageous.

I smell a scam.
Its 4 years for endorsments and 3 years for SP30's etc, so I've got another year and a bit to go.

Agreed! My SP30 becomes void this December, and my licence is then clean again. But I'll still have to declare it to my insurance for another 2 years anyway

Could they not check previous policies where it would tell them what dat the motoring conviction was on when it was declared?

Dunno....I try to change my insurance every time I renew
I do know however lieing to them doesnt work....my mate phoned up & 'forgot' to declare his 3 write off's & 6 motoring convictions Safe to say they were back on the phone within 20mins telling him to forget it
If the points are removed however - they may not find out.....I suspect they are linked to DVLA reccords somehow
