My mum got a letter through this morning from Cumbria police.
Speedling fine.on the M6 last monday at 14:43 just down past cumbria.Says she was doing 90+ mph on a 70.
Thing is the place where my mum was 'apparently' speeding is 2 and a half hours away from where we live and where my mum works lol.
says the offence was commited 3/4/06.Which was last monday.Last monday my mum was in work with her car in car park lol 2 and a half hours from the scene.
So had to send them a letter bla de bla and see what comes of it.
Dont know wether someone has copied the plates or some one has similar plates that have modified it with studs to make it say a name etc.

probably copied plates...
she will need to prove her car wasnt in use at the time and that she was in work, does her work have CCTV of the carpark? try get the tapes if they do with the time, etc...
if you cant prove it, then she will still likely be done for it...

Do you know what it was that supposedly clocked her?
There has been average speed cameras down here on the M6 but the Safety Camera Vans sometimes go on the bridges above the motorway.
Just thinking if it was one of the average speed cameras they are a fair way up in the air so might have misread the reg? Especially if was poor weather?

If your certain that it was'nt your mum, which it sounds like it was'nt anyway then just write them a letter explaining the whole situation. Will probably be a car on false plates as already said.

not as if my mum could nip out to cumbria area on her lunch break lol 2 n a half hours away lol.
not sure what type of camera.
