hey all, picking up my new corsa gsi shell at the end of this week, bought off a mate with a nice big sparco FIA roll cage, the plates have not been weled in for the roll cage so once ive done that i thought i might aswell get a strengthening kit (several metal plates cut to shape) and seam weld the shell. what would you people advise when welding the plates in and seam welding the car? want to do at least the whole lower half of the car, do i stitch weld every other inch or completely weld each seam? will be using c16xe engine... any other tips in regards to get i get on with welding everything?? also i will be putting braided brake lines inside the car, which master cylinder should i use? i have a abs one and a non-abs one, will be used with 2.0 16v calipers all round (rear disc conversion) but biger discs at front, how would i plum the lines in as it can be done split i.e, 1 cylinder operating the fron left and rear right, then other cylinder operating front right and rear left? or the normall way as in one operating the fron and one operating the bake? i will not be using the original bias valve, i will be installing a new one and i will be using a hydraulic hand brake. and what would be the easiest was to work out what unions and fittings i will need for the braided lines? any other stuff that i might have missed will be well handy. many thanks chris

Hockley bias box if you want proper adjustable bias.

I got mine from BAT in Liverpool, 0151 709 8585, who were also going to supply the pipes and fittings. Car is sold now to rallyjohn off here, not sure where he's up to with it might be worth a u2u.

for welding use weld thru primer over bare metal b4 u weld. wels an inch and leave an inch and do these welds a bit here n a bit on other side etc to give the welded areas time to cool to avoid warping panels..
