i love amsterdam...been 4times
stay in hotel terminus
lovely big rooms, nice safe feel about hotel
one street away from redlight district. near to grand central, and v near main shoppin street
go in greenhouse effect gr8 weed in there
go in banana bar if ur with mates... bird puts banana in fa**y and u each have to take a bite...

if you can afford get a business room in the Raddisson SAS - its fantastic - was there for a week in February
Red Light districts a state at the minute though cause they're rebuilding the side walls of the canal so its muddy as hell - will be good when its finished!
Also Amsterdam Dungeons is worth a visit - was really funny!
If you want to makei t oento remeber - go to Jamie Olivers new restaurant over there - called "Fifteen"
it'll cost about £50 a head for drinks and food, but its excellent - I'll post a copy of the menu from when I went
