As a matter of fact, we were never burgled until two weeks after she died, obviously someone noticed she wasn't around any more.

any dog looked after right gets loyal and protective of its 'family' and home; we had our old english sheepdog for years; soft as crap with anyone it knew, bothered by strangers (used to put its self between the pram and anyone looking in the pram when little sister was born! thats one big barrier!) and was a fab guard dog, no break-ins until it died

Kerry i love your dog. Its a Northen Inuit if i recall? I will have plenty of time to care for the dog, and i admit, i do want something that looks agressive (to at least act as a visual deterrent).

I dont think dobermans look as mean without their ears docked, can anyone confirm this IS illegal? Ive decided to either get a doberman, or a german shepard. I heard many stories about these two types defending the home, and im quite impressed

they do use the german shepherd but are thinking of other breeds at the moment, as the german shepherds that are getting bred are becoming to soft.

Yes ear cropping is not allowed thankgod.
