im contemplating gettings a piper cross cold air feed induction kit for my corsa 1.2 8v ("trip") lol dont ask i know its shit, it got 45 bhp and takes approx 4 days to hit 60MPH (17 secs tbh) but im looking at getting some extra power into this little machine for as little as possible. i want to keep it pretty much as it is, because im gonna struggle to sell it otherwise at a later date that is. so i wanna keep it V.similar to what it is now..... im thinking maybe induct kit and back box but need a lil advice if anyone knows how to get more? maybe a 6th gear?
suggestions would be greatful please

i would honestly save your money, drill your airbox and throw a cheap panel filter in. perhaps concentrate on keeping the car in good nick then upgrade later on.

an air filter wont give any extra power, to a small engine like that, it will make it sound slighlty 'beefier' though. Back box wont do much either. its all just adding sound to the car. i got the 1.2 16v and its quite nippy, its not fast compared to proper cars. but with out spending alot of money on an engine, there really isnt much you can do for little money thats gonna chance it that much.

Why not? They wouldnt even bother looking at the airbox if you were selling - they're not usually that thorough.

An open cone air filter without any good cold air feeds will make it worse - not better, and from what I hear wont improve noise that much.

Airbox drilling is a much better idea, and a panel filter is only about 30 quid.

alloys are a big chance to the car, and can be put on and taken off easily?

yeh, keep it simple and tidy, some lowering springs arent all that difficult to change, and thats a great look to the car, not to expensive either. will make it look even tidier, and still simple.
my open cone filter made the engine a bit louder and coupled with a back box, it sounds quite nice.

induction kits on corsa's are stupid imo. honestly, on a 1.2...theres no point. It wont make your car go any faster..but it will drink your petrol.

I wouldnt bother mate, just drill some holes in your standard box and stick a panel in. less mucking about in the long run.

I had a pipercross on my 1.2 8v

NO power gain noticed, a nice little roar at around 30-40mph that was about it.

A waste of £70 back in the day to be honest.

If you drill it round the bottom and the wing side, you can't really see it.

i got a K&N cone filter on mine, got it given to me by a mate who didnt want it. It does make it sound deeper when you get into higher revs, or really give it some. coupled witha back box makes it noiser.

just drill it. Some holes wont make a difference, apart from making it go "BRoom" instead of ...parp.

Cheaper to do, same gains (zero), quicker as well.

honestly mate, wouldnt buy one, you'll maybe feel a little better throttle response but no power gain. Good grunt you'll get though. Drill the air box and get a replacement filter.
Or go all out and put an XE in,
