Had my gearbox go nearly a week and a half ago on the sax and contacted my local garage and they said if i could get a gearbox they would fit it for me at a good price.
So started hunting around and found some good condition second hand ones with low mileage. Decided to go with one from a breakers which they said was from a 04 plate VTR and had covered 18k for £200 delivered. So i thought fair enough mileage might be a bit out so ordered it and got it sent direct to the garage i'm getting work carried out.
Called garage today to ask when the car might be done cos i need it for uni this week and i'm fed up of a 2 hours on the bus, and they said "Simsy this gearbox they sent and said its done 18k, it looks more like 118k!"
I'm very annoyed and the garage is going to double check it before fitting it cos theres no point fitting rubbish and i'd probably be better off with the broke box.
Called up the breakers and they were a bit speachless after my ear banging about the quoted mileage and they said if there is a problem they will try and resolve it with another box!
Grr i'm very annoyed, especially when i don't need crap like this with all the work i have to do in my last week at uni!
