Was like 8 sites, and a central ?

Could be 8 bunkers on the island and then something in the middle which they all need to be operating, to make work or something ? Just paused on that picture and it's got a little "I am here" sign on it, assume it was written by the guy who was in the bunker. But looks like the other 6 sites are seperate.

Also, what the hell happened to the guy who was in the bunker when they got there, he just legged it into the jungle (?)
