Basically am selling my Vauxhall Corsa 1.6 16V, to get a better idea... it's on the following link: -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4626899330&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

...and am having a hard time selling her i'm afraid. Not a quick sale and refuse to give her away. Wanting £3900 without the ICE.

I've been approached by someone who I know is completely legitimate who has offered me the following deal: -

His Car + £250 cash - FOR - My Car

Now... his car is the following: -

Saxo VTR which he claims is worth = (lowest £3000, but expecting £3500),
X reg (2000),
54k miles,
1.6 8v,
Dark Blue in colour,
Standard apart from a stainless backbox ,
Only bad point is a minor scratch on the NSF wheel arch,
Full M.O.T (just been done),
Taxed till the end of May.

I am basically not after a Saxo and WOULD be selling it on once I find a buyer for it so that I can get a car I do want.

Basically... what I want your guys opinions on is:

a) How much you think the Saxo is worth from the above statement (have got pics if you guys need them to assess its' value. But is standard, even standard VTR multi-drilled hole alloys?

b) How easy you think it would be to sell over the Corsa with it being unmodified?

c) What you guys think to that deal overall?

d) Whether you think I should do it?

Cheers guys. Appreciate your time and opinions

Oh yeah and any info, advice and contacts to do with Classic Car Insurance would be a good help too.

Yeah have a feeling that £3900 was a little too high. More like £3500 I think.

In terms of the power. It's a Mantzel, Stage 3 head, filter, 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, de-cat, Piper cams, straight through exhaust system. Does say around 160BHP. With a remap it should be that if not already.
Like it how everyone uses this as an opportunity to give out pointless stick, rather than the advice requested.

yours is worth about £2200.
you need to remember that mods dont make the car anymore worth its value and its a conversion which hasnt been changed on the documentation so you'd be aiming it at a very narrow audience

Well the same engine was rolling roaded in Total Vauxhall magazine when in its' donor car for a MIGWEB RR Day. And it was running 135.8BHP then with just Mantzel, CAT-back Blue Flame System and Modified Air Box.

So with a Stage 3 head, Piper cams, 4-2-1 manifold and running slightly higher compression I don't think 160bhp is too overexagerated Steve.

Yeah will see how it goes. If I do this deal I will probably be better off either way.
