how do these work, do i just go into the post office and buy them? do they cost more than their value? Won something on ebay but its cheque or postal order, don't want to have to wait for a cheque to clear. Are they safe to send through the post?

Send it recorded delivery then it has less chance of gettin lost!!!

yeah they cost a little more than their actual value which is a bummer.
but send it recorded and you'll be fine

if u write down who they are payable to they can only be cashed by that person. They are like vouchers that you can cash at the PO, you buy £X of postal orders, the person at the other end cashs them in for cash

they add on a few pence on for buying postal orders, they are safe to use just make sure u cross them..

yeah keep stub but doesn't really mean nothing as they won't track then as I've asked before when i had one go missing..

Use them alot though and 99/9% all fine..

Firstly. Recorded Delivery does not guarentee a delivery any more than normal first class does
Secondly. If you keep the stub with the number on, Royal Mail can check whether or not it has been cashed, and if not, replace it (although it does take a week or two to check)
