I got pulled tonight by police i got out asked why they just said "its a modified car" (discrimination?) anyway a 3rd person in overalls got ot who was a VOSA inspector who had a look around car eventually came to conclusion my wheels were too big as the is a very light and small mark on inner arch so gave me a vehicle defect form but the policeman never signed it so is it a valid document?
cheers

Dont even argue with VOSA.
These guys now everything about cars, buses.lorries, motorbikes, trikes...
If they went through your car and only found one fault, well done!!

fair enough really. If your wheels are catching the arches then you cant really complain. Not something id like happening on my car. Not exactly safe is it.

if vosa issued it you probably have to get a new mot within 14 days
the police dont have to sign it to make it valid VOSA are basically road police anyway

they dont catch and the mark they pointed out inside the arch was only the dirt cleaned off no deep marks also this could have been caused by wheels i had on when i had my alloys refurbed as company who lent me some wheels gave me some shit ones which ended up ripping my skirt and arch off

There is getting bigger wheels then there is trying to shoe horn 20 inch chromes and slamming the car 60mm.
As long as they don't rub and don't pretrude the wheel arch I don't think you'd have been issued the rect notice...

If Mr VOSA signed it, then thats all that matters, it will be a VOSA defect not a police matter the police just seem to be there to make themselves look busy!
I got stopped for my front window tints last week, and the VOSA inspector is coming out to me, I don't have to go to an MOT test station etc, but all detail of who you can get the defect lifted are on the back of the form.
I couldn't have got a nicer bloke really, he was just chuckling away to himself at me driving in the rain with both my front windows down and then he said he would come out to me etc save me doing anything else.
