My Astra V5 doesn't mention the turbo and thats a completely standard car.

Hmmmm would have thought any insurance company would want to know if your car was N/A or Turbo charged

you dont have to put turbo on your v5, just engine number and cc, as long as it is insured as a conversion I see no problem

They do, but the V5 only carries model name and capacity. ie. VAUXHALL ASTRA CONV 2.0I and 1998CC.

so he still needs to tell insurance its a turbo then, its like 18" alloy wheels might not be on the v5 but u still need to tell insurance

Well DUH! You only declare the CC of the engine on the V5, that might be why it's not declared on te V5.

Conversation normally goes:
Vauxhall
What Vauxhall
Astra
What Astra
Convertible
1.8, 2.0 or 2.2.
2.0
They well know the rest of the spec, because they will confirm the group if you ask for it. When its 17 you know you've got a quick one 
That guy will have to detail the spec to his insurer though, just verbally and not relying on a list like anyone with a standard car can.

A: hi mate, havent really got a price in mind, make me an offer. its on the log book as a 2L i insured it with adrian flux as a turbo for £760 and im 23, they were the cheapest. hope this helps thanks
