anyone ever forgot to pay there car tax (last months) and decided to buy it now? do you pay a fine?

You'll just get it from the expiry of the old one, should be OK.

Fine is only if you don't either tax it or SORN it, and you're about to do one of them.

I don't have 100% trust in DVLA systems, but no, if you do one or the other you should be OK.

my tax ran out and i decared my car SORN after a month it ran out and i havent recived a fine (touch wood) and that was 2 or 3 weeks ago that.

i got 2 fines through o nthurs for £40 each.

Bought a corsa couple of yr ago, sorned it for last yr didnt this forgot in Jan along with a scooter which is in my garage and been there 3 years, took them 3 months to send me the fine through

Gonna send off a letter saying i posted them the sorn in the same envelope see if i can get away with it if not looks like im coughing up the money

dont they come and clamp your car now if you dont pay it?

some chav down the road from me with his modified erst had this done to him

the old system used to be lush cos you could always swing a month before and after it was due for free. wouldnt even try it now with these computerised systems
