thinking of replacing my clocks with gauges but the gauges i want to buy dont come with mile counter i.e. how far the car has gone in its life is this a legal requirement?

as far as i know you have to have 1 for mots etc but only because they put it on the certificate?? but i dont think the old bill can do you for it but when you sell the car you will have to very carefull about telling the person the mileage is not 100% true

You don't need anything. However, you probably should get ine otherwise people will think your car is a bit dodgy. You can get gauges with odometers in them.

was more worried about mots think ill have my car until its scrapped now so dont need to worry about selling it

AFAIK odometers are a legal requirement full stop, you could contact the DoT about it to make certain though. I believe the Stack dash's can't be used on a road car unless they have one.
