Just say the wheel wasnt buckled when it left you & must have happened in transit.
Offer him the carriers details if he wishes to claim - will only be wasting his time tho!! 
offset & balancing he should have checked before bidding!!

i have no idea what a buckled wheel looks like TBH, is it something you cant miss? because the backs and front of the wheels all looks the same and there were no cracks or bulges  pics of a buckled wheel anyone?

you wouldnt be able to notice it thru a pic unless it was REALLY bad. He is really pre warning you what he is already going to do so id remove all details but im sure paypal store them. Only way really is to change your account. I think when you sign up and in the terms and conditions its in the small print that they can take the cash if the circumstances arise. Sounds like he will claim anyway but to be honest he doesnt have a leg to stand on. Was he putting the wheels on the car you described??

fuck im so worried now. i have double checked my auction page, and there isnt any indication that the wheels are un balanced and not buckled. i dont know, he didnt say what car they were going on or ask of fitment info. he emailed me once asking me to end the acution early for an offer of 200£, i said no. he then was the winning bidder.

i think you have advertised it honestly and fairly. It depends what Merc he put it on. As for the longer bolt issue the standard ones dont usually fit and are usually shorter anyway. But thats not your problem as they were not described in the ad. Your selling alloys not alloys plus fitting kit. its up the the person to put them on and provide this.

It might be worth claiming that you've lost your bank card and getting a replacement pronto. I don't think they'll be able to take the money then.

If anyone was that bothered they'd get a SOlicitor involved and sue PayPal... unless they have a BONA-FIDA reason for confiscating your money they cannot keep it REGARDLESS Of what their T&C states!

ye they took money from me without telling me! even yhough the other gy was in the wrong. Trouble is,, they have now restricted my account so i cant add funds, and are taking me to court next week if they donw get the money.
Really dont know what to do!

But lets be honest, everyone knows how shit paypal are... they take fucking money form you for receiving money into your account!!! Poepl only use them because they are are quicker than wasting ime sending a cheque etc and agreed if I can use my credit card direct i always do!

I've deleted all details off paypal. If he does say he wants a refund, il contact trading standards, just to make sure im 100% entitled not to give him a refund.

From day 1 I knew Paypal was a very dodgy way of doing business, hence why I don't use it and just send cheques, I don't care that I have to wait 5 days to recieve my goods because at the end of the day I am in control of that cheque and can cancel it at any time.
I also don't tend to sell or buy stuff on the internet over the value of £100 quid unless I know the person because its just to risky.

Call your bank, say you've lost your card and they will send you a different one. The sort code and account number will be the same but the other details will be different, that way if they are gunna take money they cant as the details will be incorrect
