Right i haven't had a water temprature gauge for a while , well atleast not a working one, i have a blue wire from the x16xe ECU which is for the water tempreture gauge but im struggling to see where to connect it too... My car loom is a 1.2 16v for anyone who doesnt know, does it need to go to somewhere on the engine or somewhere on the car loom etc
Any pictures would be helpful as pictures paint a 1000 words
Cheers Rob

there should be TWO wiring connections here:

the top one (bigger) is the CTS for the ECU
the smaller one is the water temp sensor for the dials
you require this;

one of these;

some of this;

maybe a few of these:

and some of this:

in all serious mode now, connect the smaller terminal on the thermostat to the blue wire at the back of the clocks and jobs a gud'un

Aha i have seen this next to the CTS, so basically i just need to get a clip, at the moment the wire by the cts is slide onto a sort of round thing, do i remove the wire from that and connect it too the one i have from the 1.6 ECU or do i slide the one from the ECU onto the little round thing aswell as leaveing the one there at the moment on it

Ok had a look etc at this today and might sound dumb but i dont know where to put it on the back of the clocks or where to run the wire through, is it not possible to just connect the blue wire from the ECU straight to the temp sesnor in the engine ?

you could quite easily connect the blue wires together, but it wont solve your problem.
when i did mine i found the blue wire in the loom under the bonnet (1.2 loom) as that was easiest, but that wire may not be there on yours if you've ripped out the 1.2 loom

Well yeah did rip out the whole 1.2 engine loom, so which prong does it go onto on the back of the clocks ?
