Back onto the subject again...
My area isn't currently recruiting
Now I know there are other jobs that can be done that are related to police work but you aren't actually classed as police. Corsa_Crew reccomended the comms support as you are expected to give advice & you get an idea of what police work entails. Plus the pay isn't too shabby.
Any others that people could reccomend?
My area is http://southyorks.police.uk/careers/vacancies/
There is a warrant officer job on that list but am I right in thinking that I would be going out serving warrents? IE raiding/searching places? Or going to "get" people?
Cheers

A warrant officer will be someone who picks up a defendant who has a warrant out for his arrest. For instance, if you're due at court and don't turn up, the judge can issue a bench warrant. You'll then be arrested for a bail act offence and taken to either a police station where Prison Escort contracters will deliver you to court or the warrants officer will sometimes deliver the defendant to court themselves.

Yeah
I've just been having a browse around the SYP website & found a brief description
"Based at College Road, Doncaster you will trace, locate and apprehend of criminal bail offenders using all available computer systems, escort detainees to custody areas and gather and communicate intelligence.
To be considered for this challenging role, you will need experience of dealing with the public, remaining calm under pressure and proven ability of dealing with conflict situations. It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence and your appointment will be subject to passing the South Yorkshire Police driving test. In addition you must be physically fit and be prepared to attend conflict management training. Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Windows packages are essential, as is the ability to work on your own initiative and within a team."
Hmmm
Is that a god job or not? It could be interesting I suppose

Yeah Matt, except the 'How to Apply' link cunningly hidden in the navigation bar on the right.
