Engines good (cos even jag use it in their x-type), especially when mated to the 6 speed box. You get a decent level of kit in them, and they make good 2nd hand buys cos they depreciate like you wouldn't believe from new !!
My dad picked his 04 plate Ghia X estate when it was 10 months old with 10k miles on it for just shy of £16k, when the list price from new was nearer £24k with all the options on it....

i had one as a hire car when i went away on training
Not very ggod on fuel - £40 for 220 miles but I was thriashing the fuck out of it
Very nice motorway cruiser - loads of torque
Just too short a rev range
