Right got a producer the other day only to find my MOT had run out 2 days before. Do the police give you some kind of grace or something cos my tax doesnt run out for another 2 months which is why i was never concearned with it, i do have it MOT'd now however, have any of you ever had this? Help me please!

i would say you would be very lucky to get away with it because its how the car is at the time they pulled you that matters

if you have the car MOT'd before you go you could say it was due last week so you got it done or it had failed and it was in the week grace until the problems were solved and the re test passed!

just been with the old certificate and the women behind the desk said they cant do anything as its still a failure to produce, now i will go to court in a months time and for what? 3 days! what a waste of the courts time

If your car does not have a valid MOT certificate your insurance policy is invalid.

The police will give you no grace if your vehicle is not MOTd, but you may only get a fine.

It used to be treated as a civil offence - not sure now.

its only a fine for no mot mine was 45 pounds when i got done for it last year

could offer some kinda bribe to the mot tester to back date it
