Jase, they work fine and the only downside is they dont offer the best performance compared to a recirc. It wont be an issue if its had one but it depends where its fitted as they dont tend to work in the standard position. If it has been fitted where the stock recirc was, then its a straight forward replacement for recirc however if it has been fitted over on the intercooler pipe then you may need to replace the ic pipe (tis a bitch to fit). Id need to see pics of where its located first tho.
stuart an atmospheric DV on the vag 1.8T engine quite commonly causes the car to go into limp home mode
just ordered my Forge 007P

Steve, i have had a total of 12 different diverter/atmospheric valves (silly amount i know) However, not one of the atmospheric dv's has put me into limp mode, as i said in previous post, i go my my experiences and of those i know. The only time ive known problems with VTA valves is when they have been fitted in the stock location and not moved over to the ic pipe. Everyone has their own views on VTA valves, too many times i read that they dont work when they do.
On audi sport i got slated, told they didnt work etc but i tried and succeded, suddenly loads of them have them now and run without problems (One had a problem, however the muppet had not done clips on pipes up properly so it was his own fault)

If you want it to. If you want every bit of power you can, get a recirc.

Also if anyone did want to do VTA, best valve i had was the HKS SSQ with 1.8T adaptor, by far the best performing atmospheric i had.
Just for your info, i had TurboXS, Bailey X2 (one valve failed so got new one), Bailey Venturi, TurboXS (bigger one), HKS SSQ all atmospherics and all worked.
