It was done in 2k lacquer over basecoat.
3CM wot are you on about a pre97 rear quarter ?

is it metalic of solid colour?? so do u get much contamint in paint cos i always have that prob if i dont clean where i paint out all the time and keep everywhere clean?? just wondering how u got round the prob!

Its solid black, but clear over base, rather than 2k solid. I make sure i keep the spraying area as clean as i can, i sweep it out, then hose it down. Its also good to have the floor and walls wet while you paint, that'll reduce dust. TBH you can eliminate dust in the base coat, then any bits you might get in the lacquer can be flattened and polished out

i am not to hot a the polish out bit yet need to work on that, how can u eliminate dost in basecoat??? sorry to ask questions just intrests me and like to lean anything i can!! iaz

what are you doing for extraction since your using 2k laquer, im needing something cheap and small to go in my wee shed until i build a bigger one to spray in

job looks crap to me. welds havent been ground down n there is NO way on gods earth u can fit a 1/4 panel to a car and have the joints flush with such a small amount of filler. also in one of the pics the panel doesnt seem to be in alighnment properly height wise.

All of the welds were ground down lower than the flush level of the panel, so that it can be filled with filler. IF they weren't ground down you would see the welded joint, which you can't

I had that exact panel replaced on my old Corsa. It got damaged by some dick that decided to kick and punch it. Brother has also had that panel replaced on his car as he bought it damaged and had it repaired...
