Just aquired a vectra that I'll be using for a bit as I've sold my other car and there's a few problems with it so thought I'd see if anyone on here knew any solutions...
1) Alarm goes off when you open the door, the fobs knackered... do you HAVE to use the fob to deactiveate the alarm does it not work off the key too? If you do need the fob anyone any ideas bout getting a new one and getting them re-coded or whatever?
2) Central locking in-op on one rear door... do they just require solonoids replacing? Scrappy job?
3) EGR Valve... apparently it's a bit dodgy.. I have a spare .. what does it do and is it easy to replace? I think this is a common fault true?

My dads vectra had a problem with the fuel filler flap (he couldnt open it because of a central locking problem). I went to scrappy, replaced solenoid and it worked fine so i would try the same with your rear door
