yes other companies won't take it because you've not had one year NCB. its a way of tying you into the company. you don't save anythig taking the 10months over the 12 anyway

I have been told by several insurance companies that they dont accept the 10 month bonus accelerators. I was previously with Elephant and and Adrian Flux and a few others said "did you have a 10 month policy", to which I replied no, they then said "good because we wouldnt accept that as a years no claims"

I meant that its not true that other companies dont accept them.

I have a piece of paper stating that I have 2 years no claims bonus - how are any insurance companies going to know otherwise?

Either way im not too fussed because no-one has ever been able to beat Admiral/Elephant on price so I dont mind sticking with them.

If you get a letter from the company at the end of the 10 months saying you have however many years no claims, you have that many years no claims.
Doesn't matter how you got them.

I've been driving 4 years but ended up with 9 years no claims

Funny thing I didn't even know as the first year was free with renault on my clio and I stayed and paid with them the next year. I had 2 full year policies and somehow they give me some sort of accelerated bonus. I then insured my corsa with them for the remainder of year 3 and paid a small extra for the few months. These full 3 years with Renault insurance somehow gave me 8 years no claims . When I rang up Flux they accepted this and hopefully by the end of April I will have 9 years
