My dad's Toyota land cruiser was stolen on in the early hours of monday morning and was used in a ram raid, in which they stolen a cash machine

Police called my dad at 4 in the morning to tell him that it had been stolen and that they had found it and it had been used to raid this petrol station.

There was no damage done to the locks where they had broken in. The cars not exactally quiet either with it being a 4.2 litre turbo diesel. But nobody in the house or neighbours heard anything.

My dad had put uprated bumpers and suspension on the land cruiser which basically saved the car from being a write off. The bumpers pretty much fcukd and the bonnet needs scraping but apart from that and a smashed headlight should be ok. If the bumpers weren't on my dad reckons the whole front end would be basically up by the windscreen. Suppose it would be though if you hit a wall with it!

Anyway police have got CCTV footage of what happened at the petrol station so hopefully they'll catch them.

I just thought i would share my story with you all

p.s sorry for the essay and any possible spelling/grammer mistakes

surely their would be some chassis damage though? Even with uprated bumpers if it was rammed into something its going to do some damage!

I would make the insurance company get it fully checked out, make sure chassis is straight, etc.

I wouldn't like a car back after that happened, you don't know what else has been done to it.

I can see the bumpers saving it too, there ihas got to be more underlying damage imo.

yeah its in the garage waiting for insurance company to check it over.

He doesn't want them to write it off though because he said it's got more sentimental meaning to him that what the book price of the car will be. Which wil be about £6k for a car that £45 - 50k brand new
