Drove my corsa for the first time tonight and i have found that unlike my driving instructors car when i go to change gear and take my foot off the gas the revs drop off pretty fast and also the car tends to lurch when the power is put back on after the gear change is also tends to stall if you dont keep the revs up when pulling away at lights/from side of the road etc.... The car has a k&N 57i induction kit and a rage4" back box I have seen a lot of threads relating to the idle controll valve sticking etc........ could this explain the lurchyness and the easy stalling
If it is how do i go about cleaning the icv would using an engine cleaner do it (i was thinking about that ecotek foam stuff) or would it need to be cleaned another way/replaced
Also what is the opinion on the 1.4 8v engine thats in the car as i see a lot of talk about 1.2 8v/16v and 2.0l red tops but not that much about this engine is that because they are shoot performing or is it a pretty nippy engine to have in my first car?
Any help is greatly appreciated
Ollie

Not being funny mate but it just sounds like you can't drive the car properly yet.

Changing gear is the first thing you learn how to do. I am not talking about the kangarooing this is something totally different and how could i be causing the power to drop off to fast
Where is the air flow meter in the 1.4 8v ? i take it its after the air box also could this be the icv?
