A letter for Birmingham City Council because they never answer the bloody phones...

To Birmingham City Council,

I have received a letter from a T Miksa from the parking section explaining to me that a parking ticket that I paid in December 2005 was rejected as I sent the payment too late. In my opinion I paid the ticket in time.

However, I have attempted on numerous occasions to phone up and pay the fine over the phone, however every time I am greeted by a nice message explaining that I should call back on Monday, or that your office hours are between 0930 and 1730 and you are open Monday to Saturday. This is particularly curious as whenever I have phoned up it has, in fact, been on a week day and I have even phoned you in your office hours. I am curios as to how you expect me to pay this fine? I am not prepared to send a cheque to you as you have not stated how much money I am meant to send to you in the letter. I quote:

Please note your £30.00 payment was not received within the 14 days specified on the Penalty Notice, therefore the full amount of £60.00 is required in settlement of the Notice.

Then further on in the letter it goes on to say:

…forward it to this office within 14 days of the date of this letter. Please note that should the payment not be received within this time, the full amount of £60 is due.

I suggest you contact me on 0********** if you want me to pay this fine.
