Whats good to do there; just booked a weekend away there in a month or so's time and was wondering what was good to do and a waste of time

me girlfriend went to barcelona in september on her cousins hen do,they went on the stadium tour and said it was well worth doing,said the night life was good but a bit pricey but they had a great time by all accounts

go to a game if you can, its only cheap to get in and should have no problems getting in unless they are playing Real Madrid

Watch out for pick-pockets, apparantly its quite bad for them. My mum and dad went and my mum got her purse nicked out of her handbag. So just take the money you will need in your pocket and nothing else and tell your misses to leave her handbag at the hotel.

also take lots of cash, mum went for 3 days and spent a bloody fortune on food and drink and shopping etc.

go to las ramblas, its a wide street with restaurants and bars and loads of othe stuff.
also do the stadium thing its awesome.
overall Barcelona is a awesome city enjoy it

Things to do in Barcelona:
1) Les Ramblas (long street with huge roundabout halfway up with big global shops)
2) Guadi Cathederal (climb right to the top for a great view)
3) Guadi Park (great view of the city and amazing mozaics)
4) Olympic Park
5) Nou Camp Statium (I saw a Barcal game on the sunday night - 90,000 capacity for a bottom of the league opposition! seats right at the top for non-season ticket holders. Ronaldhino was unbelievable, but the sunset over the stadium then the city lighting up made if so hard to concentrate on the game!)
6) Beach
Theres loads of bars, some take some finding. lots at the olympic village near the beach. use the tube - air conditioned and clean and well lit. watch out for beggers and pick pockets - especially on Ramblas.
We went for 4 days and it wasn't enough. Barcelone match tickets are £40 from the Easy Internet Cafe next to Subway in Ramblas.
We got a 5 bed appartment and Ryan Air tickets all in for £120.

Very, very beautiful city, but as said above watch thieves. I saw this program once that said Barcelona has half the recorded theft crime rates of the whole of europe. But don't let that spoil your weekend its a fantastic place.

There is a massive fountain up near the olympic stadium, go see that its amazing, it has a light and sound show thing going on, different coloured water and jets going off to music, finishes off with Barcelona by queen. Sounds shit but i remember it being amazing.
We caught a guy looking shifty at my dad's video camera bag (he had it on his shoulder) he was stood behind us in the bus queue acting dodgy and then he didn't even get on the bus. so be careful.

Yeah Im doing a Spanish degree so we have to spend the academic year there next year, havent decided where im going yet but Barcelona is looking good
