I'm gonna start looking for a new car soon, because i'll be on a placement next year, so i'll be needing some transport. I haven't got anything sorted yet, so i don't know how far i'll be travelling every day, however, i doubt i'll be travelling much more than 50 miles....
Now my first thought was a nice 1.6 sport for around £2.5k, which i could play about with for a bit.
However, i've just done a quote on elephant for a 1.8t and a 130pd golf and they were both sub £2k fully comp, which for a 19 year old ain't too bad in my eyes...
I'd like a corsa, so i could modify it and do all the stuff i never got round to doing on my old corsa. But equally, i'd like a golf, because its a bigger car, more kit, more comfortable etc...
So, do i get a corsa, which i can afford now, or do i go for a golf and somehow borrow the money until i start earning on placement ???
cheers in advance !!!

2k insurance is stupid
Get a smaller engined car like a 1.6 Corsa thats costs less on insurance and also will help build your no claims up. Chances are if you jump straight into a powerful car at a young age your gonna crash it

The cheapest i've found on a corsa is £1300ish, cos i've bin driving my mums car for the past year, so i only have 1 years no claims on my own...

i'd go for the corsa rather than borrowing money, you've already had one so you know a bit about them. theres a white corsa sport driving round swad at the minute with for sale signs in it, dont know whos it is though lol.
try norwich union for insurance aswell, might be a little cheaper

I've seen this corsa, but i reckon its a bit over priced, bearing in mind the average mileage for its age is 60,000....

i was looking at getting a P1 a while ago, paying £1500 on insurance, £2k for a diesel golf is laughable youd be a fool to pay that.
Your 19, wait.
A 1.6 @ 19 is very good, i only had a 1.4 untill i was 21.
