Wonder if you lads can help me, ive currently got a 1.5 TD Corsa, just had the radiator changed on it, other one was knackered, now the problem is, the temperature guage shoots up steadily to the red, when i hit 60 - 70 mph or so. It aint too bad when just doing 30 but still higher than it should be, in the past ive done 80, 90, 100 constantly for miles and no trouble ????? Any advice much welcomed. (dont think its a thermostat prob btw)
Should also point out i had the rockerbox gasket changed as i had an oil leak this cleared up for a few weeks now oil is pouring out again, quite a lot of it as well
Cheers

there might be an air lock in the system somewhere or maybe the fan switch wasn't reconnected properly when the rad was changed.
as for the rocker cover; whip the top back off, clean up the surfaces and torque it back down with a bit of sealent on the gasket faces.

run the car while it's parked at fast idle for a little why with the cap off of the expansion tank.
unless there's a bleed nipple somewhere in the system on a diesle which haynes would tell you about.
two connections could be at fault. the fan switch /temp sensor at the side of the rad, and the connector which the fan takes power from.
both would have been removed to change the rad
