personally, i love them, and its what id be buying if i split my car
obvioulsy with me being 19, i cant insure a VR6 or a G60, so it'd be the 1.8 or 2 litre 16v, as the 2 litre 8v is gay
which is the better engine?
anyone had one and what did you think of it?
anything in particular to look for when buying one, other than the usual?

driven a few, 8v and 16v and VR6
abf 16v is sucha strong engine, 150ish bhp and almost buillit proof
they never seen to pull like xe's though, despite have similar power levels
the cars put to gether very very well, and use a mix of mk2 and 3 golfs
alot of people dont like the driving postion, but i like it, sit very low with abviously a low roof line as well
all have done a big milage now, but as long as it has servies history etc shouldnt be a problem

i've driven a VR6 and was dissapointed with it really, it wasnt as good as i expected, but it looked so so cool, and i loved the driving position
i wouldnt be too fussed about mileage, anything up to 100k really would do me fine
are there any particular problems with them james? general wear on parts more then normal?

wouldnt be too fussed about expensive trim/panels, i'd be looking tfor a half decent one anyway, nothing too shabby
and if anything fell off(which i doubt it would).... i'd just pay the extra for the parts, paying the premium owning a good quality car
i may or may not know of someone who has a friend building a 1.8T 'rado atm chewy..... a white one

problem is there is a good 8 or 9 diffrent 1.8ts at the least, and there all wildly diffrent
few diffrent xe's, but they will all work in the same converison, same can't be said for the 1.8t

A centrifugal supercharger uses an impeller which is spun by the drive pulley to compress air. The compressed air is then discharged through a scroll type housing to the engine. The impeller operates at a very high speed, due to the internal shaft being overdriven by the external drive pulley on the Supercharger. The Supercharger draws in air and the impeller compresses the air, then it is forced through the scroll of the Supercharger. The scroll acts as a collector and forces the compressed air through a discharge tube and into the engine. Centrifugal Superchargers are very popular for street performance applications

ive just read up about it, it actually seem far more comlicated than a supercharger
but... i now know why the G40 and G60 were names as such
the G40s G-Lader had a 40mm chamber height, and the G60s was 60mm
i learn something new and useless every day

yes i did know about the 40mm and 60mm names,
but i actully thought it related to the impella size and not chamber size
like you say, learn something new
