Could be good at the right price , but definetly ones out there with less mileage.
Mines an 1995 M , and I got it last year with 30k on the clock

I would say stay away from 1.0's that have been owned by youngsters. Especially if it was thier first car. It will be totally buggerfucked.

1.0l 12v are good if you dont take your car above 60mph, any more than that and they tend to blow up or die, it will also take a long stretch of motorway to get to that speed

Which is fine because as a new driver (Im guessing you are) , you wouldnt be able to keep a lot of power away from a lamppost or tree , power such as the mighty 1.2 8v

I'd say those 3 cyl engines are about the worst engines ever for getting a decent milage out of them. They all seem to be fucked buy about 60k.

yeah mine was an R reg "sting" fuck knows how it merits that title
I bought mine with 89k on ot and it ran perfectly very reliable wee car and it could do 100mph downhill with a tailwind
I paid 1500 for mine from an auction

to be quite honest, i had no problems whatsoever with my 1.0l.
had it to 70k and it ran pefectly, so ED, unless you have owned one, dont comment. take it from the guys with experience of them.
same with all cars - you get some shitters, you get some mint.

remember there only 3 Cylinder, so wont last as long as a straight 4 cylinder.
I used to have one, 40k, sounded and ran shit and had full vauxhall history.
Now got a 323f 150k, runs like new.
I think mileage hits the little 3 cyls harder than other cars.

It might be OK, or it might be a gamble at that mileage. The thing that would put me off that particular car is at the money there's loads of choice. You would be daft to buy one unless you were 100% happy with it, and not knowing what its going to cost you in the next three months wouldn't make me happy.

I would say get a 1.2 16v, mine only cost me about £80 more to insure. They aren't really any quicker but the engines are far better.

as i said chris, the 1 litre is a good engine compared to the 1.2 8v, but the 1,2 16v is far better as it has the correct amount of cylinders to actually work.....
