ok i was employed by conduit, have been since november.. i didnt have a permanent contract with them, it was a probation period. today i got kicked out they closed my contract for 2 instances of unauthorized absence. right the first warning i had was a meeting with two managers, it said it was my Final warning, but it was my first actual warning from them, the 2nd unauthorized absence was on xmas eve bcuz i was just wrecked in the morning. anyways had the meeting today regarding that and they kicked me out.
so im just wondering where i stand here, they are paying for my next weeks wages.. but my mate advised they should issue you with 3 warnings, first written next 2 verbal but i only had 2 and my first was was my last..
Can someone please advise me if this was unfair dismissal or were they entitled to do that as i was in my probation period.. thanks..

i think you only get one warning in a probation period which is your first and final warning

If you were wrecked mate they can sack you for that without even issuing a warning as it's classed as gross misconduct

I have done this many times (being pissed not turning up) but thankfully I was full time and my disciplinary period is now up, just got a promotion and been told I am looking at a level 4 (which is £25k minimum) within a year yes yes yes, sorry about losing your job though.

if you're not gonna turn in to work the least you can do is ring in sick... I would NEVER just not turn in to work... well, with the exeption of the council where my boss never knew where I was any way so I never bothered, but that's different...
