i have 1 for boot and 1 in each door! all operated by button! neva had a problem yet touch wood! the doors one i wud hate to break as i wud then be stuck inside the car

Solenoids should be very reliable. Its the fitment that matters. If something comes loose etc.
Im guessin you will have no means on entry bar the solenoids. so make sure you check them often. I.e. If you just use the drivers side to get in. Check the boot and passenger work.
This way should 1 fail you can still get in.
I would run a wire to a hidden point.
If you battery goes flat you can use a 9volt battery to open the door. Car been the earth and wire been the live.

i have solenoids already fitted just interested in what other people have and how they get on.
mine are all controlled from my keyfob only.
my boot works every time without fail.
but my doors sometimes dont pull the door handle enough to pop it open, you can see the handle move but it isnt enough to pop the handle.
should i see about getting stronger solenoids, passenger door works if you put some pressure at the catch, but driver door needs adjusting

The boot doesn't have the handles and mechanism to move as well. Disconnecting this might make it more reliable but then gives you no way out!
Try stronger solenoids.

it not unreliable just doesnt work properly, think because i have my handles trimmed in viynl it doesnt help. anyway of finding out how strong mine are and best place for new ones? maplins?
price?
