Could Drill holes in the side closest to the wing and below the line of the filter, also pull out the curled bit of pipe inside it to derestrict it.

But tbh wont make a hell of a difference.

Drill it and buy a RAMair panel filter.

panel filter and some wholes near the wing... make sure only on vertical parts of the airbox, there is a sloped bit on the edge that can let water in that drains down side of bonnet if it has holes in that bit which isn't good

up to you, the piperX tend to be foam so dirt gets trapped and harder to clean, the K&N hold dirt in the oil which can be washed off and reoiled more easily and should last longer
