normall stuff mate, make sure the exhaust is in good nick they rot behind the back box and drop off randomly, check that theres no sludge (like mayonaise) under the oil cap on the block check what its like from cold starting if possible as they can be a bugger if the glow plugs have gone and it drains the battery check for knocks or anything like that take it for a drive and use every gear including reverse!
oh and give it some pasty on a carriageway so you can feel the turbo kicking in!
