yes there are extremes which include the bnp, i bet most people havent really got a problem in that way. But its the fact that people think that displaying a national flag is racism i mean c'mon they'll be asking to change the anthem next

It isn't really true is it, but those supposedly patriotic BNP ass holes and football hooligans have really ruined it for the rest of us haven't they. You go to Scotland or Wales and on most hotels, pubs or public buildings and you will see thier national flag...

that much has some value, brits seem to turn their patrioticism (sp) (not sure if its even a word) on and off when it suits them

most brit people probably don't really care about the flag/country but like to fight the racism arguement

Yea, the act of flying the flag should not be, and isn't racist. It's the image that flag portrays that's regarded the racist thing. The problem is is that now people won't let us prove that not everyone flying a St Georges cross is a racist now

People should be less worried of pissing people off.

i see where your coming from

the flag has been mis-used and now people are interested in it because of the immigration/racism issues.

if papers hadn't covered these stories of flag not being allowed, i'd say most brit's wouldn't actually notice

When i was at luton uni, one of the caretakers told me that during euro 96 some students had a st georges cross flag hanging from the window in their halls. Apparantly some asian lads managed to get into the halls and kicked the door down and steamed in and took the flag down.
