If i go to put my private plate on my car how long do i have to put it on? I.e if it went today do i have to put the plates on A.S.A.P or can i wait a day or two? Thanks Lee

no it goes on straigth away
U have to give dvla your tax disc so they can issue u with a new one with new reg and also your mot so they can change the reg on that and stamp it
Then think uv got 24hours to swap the plates over
They give u a letter incase u get stopped or questioned over why your tax disc dont match the plate on your car

like foxy says, if u go to preston dvla they will do it there and then and they expect u to put the plate on when u get home. if its by post tho itl take 5 days or so for ur new tax disc to come

Any time i've done it i've had to wait for v5's to be changed.
Maybe its just when your transfering it

The v5 dont matter
As soon as uv been to dvla u change your plates
U get given a bit of your v5 back which has your new reg on it and u use that if u need to show documents etc or tax your car while you wait on your new v5 coming through, usually takes 3-6 weeks for it to come through

I have come back. I have my original disc in the car and a new one with me, she just said post back your old disc when you have changed it over.

Shame my initals spell this. I missed out on C8 LAS but when i made my mind up it was sold, so i bought C524LEE then i bought this. When it is not raining im going to clean the car and put the plate on.

Yes thatts him. The yellow van is AKS 1B and the blue astra is my other brothers G8 CRS
